The North East Federation on International Trade (NEFIT) was set up on 7th February 2002. NEFIT is a nodal trade body of exporters and importers of North East India. The registered head office is located in Shillong, Meghalaya. It has its branches in all the 8 states of North Eastern Regions of India. NEFIT is accredited by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt. of India, New Delhi and also the official member of ‘State level Export Promotion Committee (SLEPC)’ of different states of the region. Besides, NEFIT is the Authorized organization / agency for issuing ‘Certificate of Origin’ in relation to Exports-Imports from the region as specified in the Handbook of Procedures of the Govt. of India under Ministry of Commerce. NEFIT had signed a number of MOU with different Trade bodies and Chambers of Commerce of the Country including other foreign countries during the past few years.

Aims & Objective:

To promote and facilitate International Trade between India other Countries.
To highlight and promote North East India, and thereby attracting more trade and investment for the region.
To promote and maintain good international relations through trade and commerce.
To hold trade fairs, exhibition and buyers and sellers meet for getting more exposures for the produce and products of North East India.
To disseminate information on exports and imports, survey markets, prospects and its accessibility, send feedbacks to the states and Government of India on trade related issues and policy matters.
